“Many have my number” – Virat Kohli reveals who stood by him during his tough phase

Former India captain Virat Kohli has revealed that only MS Dhoni had personally contacted him after he stepped down as Test captain earlier this year. Kohli relinquished the Test captaincy after India lost the three-match series against South Africa. After this, when he was going through the toughest phase of his career, he was controversially removed from the captaincy of ODI team as well.

The 33-year-old had recently also talked about not recovering mentally but making a fresh comeback after a month’s break from cricket. Meanwhile, when Virat Kohli came to the press conference after Team India’s defeat against Pakistan, he made a surprising disclosure on the question of people supporting him in difficult times. The answer given by Virat has created a sensation on social media.

Virat said, “When I left the Test captaincy, I got a message from only one person with whom I have played before and that is MS Dhoni. And no one contacted me. Many people have my number but only MS messaged me. When there is respect between two players, there is a relationship. I personally approach MS whenever I want to.”

Virat further said, “People have a lot to say on TV. Many people have my personal number but no one message me. I will only say one thing. If I want to say something about anyone, I will say it individually. If you really want to help. If you give those suggestions in front of the world, that has no value. If that is supposed to help me, you should talk one-on-one. If he genuinely wants me to do well.”

Meanwhile, talking about Virat’s form, after scoring two half-centuries in two consecutive matches, it seems that Virat has returned to his old rhythm. He also played a brilliant innings of 60 runs in the Super-4 match against Pakistan.

Unfortunately for India, they lost the match in a last over thriller as Pakistan won the match by 5 wickets while chasing the target of 182 runs. Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Nawaz and Asif Ali played important innings for Pakistan.
