While the 2nd Test match between India and Sri Lanka was ongoing in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, fans roaring and chanting RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Bangaluru’s IPL franchise, in response to which, their former captain Virat Kohli appreciated the chants and showed them the red vest that he was wearing inside the jersey, the moment which has won many hearts of RCB fans.
It was a great day yesterday for the Bengaluru people, as they not only got to witness the India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test match, the city based franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also announced their new captain and launched new jersey on the day.
RCB had called for a special event for the people of Bengaluru called ‘RCB Unbox’, where the franchise unveiled former South African skipper Faf du Plessis as the captain of the team after Virat Kohli had decided to step down from the position following the IPL 2021.
They also launched a beautiful looking jersey during the event. While all these going on at one end, on the other end, Team India were taking on Sri Lanka.
While Kohli failed score big in what is termed as his 2nd home, but won every RCB fans’ heart when the batter showed everyone his red vest during fielding while the fans present in the stadium were all chanting RCB.
Talking about the match, it looks all set to end inside the 2 or 3 days of play as India got all out for 252 runs with Shreyas Iyer missing out on century by 8 runs, while Sri Lanka are in deep trouble as they have already lost 6 wickets for 86 runs.
As for RCB, they kick-off their new season of the Indian Premier League on the 27th March, when they take on the Punjab Kings in the 2nd match of the day. The opening match of the tournament will be played on the 26th March between CSK and KKR, last year’s two finalists.
