The ‘Fab Four’ is a term that is created by the cricket fans, which basically means Fabulous Four, which points towards four of the top batsmen of this generation. These are players who have been winning matches for their team single handedly in all formats.
Recently, Twitter was quite engaged with the Fab Four, listing out their Fab Fours according to them. That also includes discussion of who could be part of the all-time Fab Four. Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has picked his all-time best Fab Four.
But who are the current Fab Four you might be wondering. The fans have picked India’s Virat Kohli, England’s Joe Root, Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson. These four have dominated the game of cricket in the last decade. They have captained or currently the captain of their national team, and that proves their credential.
But, most recently, Steve Smith and Joe Root has been struggling to score runs in the limited overs cricket while they still showcasing their brilliance in the white ball game. And as because of this, many experts believes that Pakistan Babar Azam should now be considered in the Fab Four.
Vinod Kambli picks his all-time Fab Four
So the Fab Four, or the Fabulous Four that former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli picked includes 3 Indian players, 2 former and 1 current International. Vinod Kambli’s Fab Four are Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli and West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards.
However, a part of fans are not happy with Kambli’s selection as they feel that selecting 3 Indian players is a biased decision. However, Kambli’s selection is no doubt is based on the players’ performance throughout their playing days.
Sachin Tendulkar is known as the ‘God of Cricket’ and that gives us an idea of how good Tendulkar was, for them who didn’t watch him play, and those who have watched him play, will no doubt agre with Kambli.
Sunil Gavaskar is termed as little master by Indian fans. Gavaskar was phenomenal during his playing days. And the current generation knows how good Virat Kohli is. Even though he is slightly out of form, but he is still one of the all-time greats.
