The Indian cricket team’s batting faced a debacle in a do-or-die match in the Asia Cup 2022 against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Twitterati were furious after Rishabh Pant once again failed to give finish touch who was playing in place of Dinesh Karthik.
After suffering a defeat in the opening match of the Super Four round against Pakistan, Team India needs must to win the match against Sri Lanka to still have a chance to reach the final.
Sri Lanka won the toss and asked India to bat first. KL Rahul once again failed while Virat Kohli couldn’t add much. Suryakumar made decent contribution but not made it big. Except for Rohit Sharma (who scored 72 runs from 41 balls), every other batter failed.
Just like the Pakistan match, the Indian team management gave the nod to Rishabh Pant over veteran Dinesh Karthik. However, just like the Pakistan match, Pant once again failed to give the inning a solid finish and could only score 17 runs from 13 balls.
After his another failure, the fans have demanded that Dinesh Karthik be brought back into the team.
