The hosts Sri Lanka became the 3rd team to qualify for the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 round after defeating Bangladesh in their 2nd match of the competition after losing the first match against Afghanistan.
This was a crucial match for both the teams as the winner would progress to the Super 4s while the loser would be knocked-out of the tournament. There were lots of talks between the teams pre-match.
But in the end, it was Sri Lanka who won the match by 2 wickets in a close thriller. Batting first, Sri Lanka dominated in the first 10 overs before Bangladesh came back to put 184 runs target.
Sri Lanka started cautiously to make sure they don’t lose wickets at a quick rate. And in the end, captain Shanaka played a key inning to guide Sri Lanka to victory with just 4 balls remaining. Meanwhile, after Sri Lanka won the match, they broke into Naagin dance as revenge for what Bangladesh did the previous time they faced in the Nidhas Trophy. Check-out how Twitter reacted.
