The 1st semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 is currently ongoing between New Zealand and Pakistan where the Pakistan team is currently chasing a target of 153 runs to progress through to the final.
After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bat first. However, the Kiwis could only score 59 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in first 10 overs. After that, Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell took New Zealand to a fighting total as the latter’s fifty took his team to 152 runs.
The pitch was behaving slow during New Zealand’s inning and people thought if New Zealand can get a wicket early, however, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, who were both out of touch throughout the tournament, walked out looking absolutely different.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan both were for the first time striking with a good strike rate. For the first time in the tournament, Pakistan scored over 50 runs smashing all the New Zealand that came to face them. As of writing this, Rizwan and Babar is still on the crease and looks set to lead Pakistan to the final on 13th November.
Meanwhile, seeing their 2 best players back in form, Pakistan fana have got expectations high and are already warning India and England to be careful against Pakistan in the final. Meanwhile, many fans are connecting it to when Pakistan single-handedly beat India by 10 wickets in last year’s T20 World Cup 2021 while chasing 153 runs.
