A further disclosure has come out in forefront as Indian wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik had a special message to Ravichandran Ashwin after the latter’s presence of mind batting during India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match.
In the last over, when India were needing 16 runs to win, Hardik Pandya got out on the first ball that made way for Dinesh Karthik to the pitch. However, the batter couldn’t do much justice to the role he was given and got on the 2nd last ball of the match, leaving India in a tense situation with new batter Ashwin on strike as per new rule.
However, Ashwin overcame all the tense situation and used his presence of mind on the pitch. He cheekily left the last ball of the match to down the leg that resulted in wide and match being tide. However, Ashwin still needed to connect the last, which he played over the cover for a boundary to win it for India.
Meanwhile, in a latest video shared on Team India’s official Twitter handle, Karthik was heard saying Thank you to Ashwin for saving him.
To which, Twitter reacted that Ashwin obviously deserves the thank you and the credit for his presence of mind.
