A sudden turn of events took place today as South Africa, who were certain to book a place in the semi-finals, suffered a huge defeat against Netherlands earlier today that opened the gate for both Pakistan and Bangladesh.
In the 2nd match of the day, both Pakistan and Bangladesh faced-off each other in a virtual quarter-final as Pakistan walked out victorious from that match and has made it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 alongside India from their group.
Meanwhile, with this win for Pakistan, given India wins against Zimbabwe, Pakistan will face New Zealand while India will face England in the semi-finals and that opens up an opportunity for another India vs Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2022 final to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Note that both India and Pakistan played against each other in their opening match in the tournament and coincidentally, the match was played at the MCG only. Twitterati now expects another India vs Pakistan clash in the coming days given both teams go past their respective semi-finals match.
