Batting first, Finn Allen and Devon Conway gave New Zealand a flying start where the former was dismissed for 42 runs from 16 balls while the latter missed on his century by 8 runs and guided New Zealand to a total of 200 runs.
Chasing that, Kangaroos got off a bad start as they lost both openers David Warner and Aaron Finch along with Mitchell Marsh in the powerplay itself.
