After a long and successful stint as the England cricket team’s Test captain, Joe Root has decided to resign from his position, which was made official by the player and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Joe Root is counted as one of the greatest captain of this generation, and certainly has proved that. However, a dip in form for England team in overall, has led to the skipper deciding to not continue at the higher post.
England cricket team is going through a very bad patch in the Test cricket from last several months, a proof of which is that, England is currently placed right at the bottom of the World Test Championship 2021-2023 Points Table.
However, Joe Root has still managed to do well for his team, certainly in the last Test series that they played against West Indies, where Root scored 289 runs from 3 matches, which includes 2 hundreds.
Roor has led the England national cricket team to 27 victories, most by an England captain, ahead of Alastair Cook and Sir Andrew Strauss. However, his resignation has led to unbelief among the cricket fraternity and believes that this will ignite him to score more runs.
Fans even compared it to the sudden resignation of the Indian captain Virat Kohli as well.

Like Kohli, , Joe Root ateps down from captaincy saying itโs taking a toll heavy toll of him. Privileges of the job are many, pressures many, many more

Joe Root had as hard as any of his predecessors, whilst still managing to remain one of the best Test Match batters out there..

Two of the greatest test captains of this generation had to give up test captaincy, meanwhile Babar Azam is still the captain of Pakistan after that shambolic home series defeat. Talk about levels.
Joe Root was fantastic with the bat even when he was leading the team. Maybe we can see a beast in him in upcoming days.
