While the cricket, especially the Indian cricket fans are quite a lot engaged with the India vs England 5th Test match, many don’t even know that the Indian limited overs team suffered a huge blow, which was at the end saved by Harshal Patel.
In preparation for the upcoming T20 overs series against the England team, the Indian team is currently playing a warm-up match against the English County side Northamptonshire.
Winning the toss, Northamptonshire opted to bowl first. And my God their decision was so write as they dismissed India’s top for 8 runs. And one moment, Team India were down to 5 wickets for just 72 runs of 12 overs.
It was set to be a shameful performance for Team India against a County side. But, Harshal Patel stepped up to the occasion and helped India to survive from the horror of a position.
While initially Harshal started off slowly, trying save a collapse, but he scored 44 runs from his last 19 balls and scored 54 runs of 36 balls and helped Team India post a fighting total of 149 runs on the board, setting target of 150.
While everyone is today busy watching the rescheduled 5th Test match between India and England, Harshal Patel’s inning went under the radar. However, there were some who took some time out to appreciate his batting.
