He also shared that the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), SRK, personally reached out to congratulate the young player after his outstanding performance that helped KKR secure a three-wicket victory against Gujarat Titans.
Following Rinku Singh’s incredible achievement of hitting five consecutive sixes, Shah Rukh Khan shared a photo on social media in which Rinku’s face was superimposed onto his body. But that wasn’t the only thing he did to celebrate Rinku’s success.
Several weeks have passed since Rinku Singh’s incredible hitting performance. During a match in which Kolkata Knight Riders were chasing a target, they required 29 runs off the final over to secure a win after Rashid Khan had previously taken a hat-trick.
However, Rinku Singh emerged as the hero of the match and won it single-handedly by smashing five consecutive sixes in the final over off Yash Dayal’s bowling. His remarkable feat allowed him to score 30 runs in just five balls and helped KKR secure an astonishing victory.
Rinku Singh, who is a left-handed middle-order batsman, recently disclosed that Shah Rukh Khan had promised to give a special performance at his wedding as a token of appreciation for his impressive display of hitting five sixes in a row during a match earlier this season.
“Sir (Shah Rukh Khan) called me after that. He was talking about my marriage. SRK said people call me for their marriage, I don’t go. Mein teri shaadi mein aunga naachne (I will come to your wedding to dance),” the KKR star said in JioCinema.
Since his exceptional performance of hitting five consecutive sixes, Rinku Singh has continued to shine in the subsequent matches for Kolkata Knight Riders. He has scored 58 not out, 18, 6, 53 not out, and 18 not out in those games. Unfortunately, KKR had lost their last four matches after their victory against Gujarat Titans.
However, on Wednesday, they finally managed to break their losing streak by defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 21 runs.
