“What happened, happened” – Ravindra Jadeja opens up on his IPL controversy after his heroic inning in Birmingham

Ravindra Jadeja, the experienced Indian cricket team all-rounder has given a big reaction to his tremendous century in the Birmingham Test match against England cricket team. He has said that during his batting in the match, the poor form of IPL 2022 was not running in his mind at all.

The 15th season of IPL was very bad one for Ravindra Jadeja. He was made the captain of the team before the start of the season after MS Dhoni resigned from the position.

Jadeja captained the team in 8 matches, out of which the team won only 2 and lost 6 matches. For the reason, he again gave the captaincy back to Dhoni. Jadeja was then later injured and ruled out of the entire tournament two matches after relinquishing the captaincy.

Other than that Jadeja’s own performance was also very disappointing. He was seen struggling to perform with ball and bat.

However, Jadeja batted brilliantly in the first innings of the Birmingham Test match and shared a record partnership of 222 runs with Rishabh Pant. Jadeja scored a brilliant century in the inning and contributed significantly in taking the Indian team to a big score.

After the Day 2’s play, while speaking to the media in the press conference, Jadeja was asked about IPL, to which he said, “What happened, happened. IPL was not on my mind. Whenever you are playing for India, your entire focus needs to be on the Indian team.”

Talking about the match, Indian team looked with Gill playing some good shots, but once wickets started to fell, it was just not stopping, until both Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja took control of the inning.

Both Pant and Jadeja scored a century and guided India to a fighting and comfortable position, where India were all-out for 416 runs. However, before stump on Day 2, the Indian pace attack ensured that England have lost their 5 wickets.
