“Pressure will increase” – Parthiv Patel names 3 players in queue to replace Rishabh Pant after dismal performance

Former Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel had some hard words for the current Indian cricket team wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant and believes that there are at least 3 players who are ready step-up in place of him.

Rishabh Pant had a pretty terrible performance in the recently concluded series against South Africa, where the left-hand batsman could only score 57 runs in the 4 matches and the highest score of 29 runs.

Pant was also handed the opportunity to the lead the Indian team in the series, however, he was criticised for his decision making in the first 2 matches that India lost.

Pant is currently going through a bit of a rough patch and is finding it hard to score runs, like the way he does. Pant had an average IPL 2022, but, because he is in the scheme of things for Indian team, he is continuing to be a part of the team.

However, former wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel feels that if it continues like that, then Pant may be shown doorways and believes that at least 3 players are ready to step in place of him.

During a detailed analysis on Cricbuzz, Patel added that pressure is bound to add up in Pant when Rohit, Rahul and Kohli returns to the fold. He is expecting Sanju Samson to do well in the Ireland series, while Ishan Kishan and Dinesh Karthik are also waiting in the queue.

“The pressure will increase on Pant when the likes of Kohli, Rohit and Rahul return. Also, there will be a series before the England tour begins and and Sanju Samson has a chance of doing well there. There are also other options like Ishan Kishan and Dinesh Karthik,” said Patel, a former RCB and Mumbai Indians player in the IPL.
