The 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) ended in quite the fashion as Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi’s Lahore Qalandars won against the Multan Sultans in the most dominant fashion.
The Final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 was played on the 27th of February in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where Lahore Qalandars took on the Multan Sultans.
It was after a quite the long period that Lahore Qalandars finally managed to win their first ever Pakistan Super League trophy, and in what fashion, by defeating the most dominant team in the league, the Multan Sultans, in the most dominant fashion.
It was not quite the good start for the Lahores side, batting first, as they lost their first 3 wickets very early on for just 25 runs inside first 5 overs. But from there, started the the Mohammad Hafeez show, who scored 69 runs of 46 balls. But the finishing was done by Harry Brook and David Wiese who both scored a quickfire 41 and 28 runs. They at the end, put 180 runs in the board.
Multan were absolutely decimated as they couldn’t build a strong partnership and kept losing wickets while a partnership of starting brew up as they got all-out for just 138 runs, with 3 wickets for Lahore skipper Shaheen Afridi.
Now you may wonder how much did the Lahore Qalandars got after winning the Final.
Champions Lahore Qalandars got PKR 80 Million ( which is about 3.40 crore INR), while the runners-up Multan Sultans got PKR 30 Million (about 1.36 crore INR). Following are the Individual awards and prize money, all in PKR.
