Gloucestershire confirms Pakistan young pacer Naseem Shah ruled out of phases of English County Championship 2022

Pakistan’s young pace bowler Naseem Shah had signed a deal with English County side Gloucestershire Club for the ongoing County Championship 2022 season in England. The young bowler wanted to come under the radar of Pakistani selectors by performing well with the red ball in the County Championship 2022 to make a comeback in the Pakistan cricket team.

Naseem Shah, who made his international debut at the age of 16, has been in and out of the Pakistan cricket team for some time now. Unfortunately for the budding pacer, Naseem Shah’s stint with Gloucestershire did not go down well with him as he has been off the field for a while due to an injury.

Naseem Shah has suffered an injury on his shoulder, due to which he is likely to be out of the cricket field for at least a month. Prior to this shoulder injury, Naseem Shah had bowled 11 overs against Northamptonshire in his debut match for Gloucestershire in the ongoing County Championship 2022.

The social media handle of Gloucestershire Cricket has confirmed the injury of Naseem Shah. Gloucestershire Cricket said in a statement: “Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of Gloucestershire’s remaining County Championship games in April and May after picking up an injury to his shoulder.”

It further added that the 19-year-old Pakistan pacer suffered an injury in the opening weekend of the season and will therefore no longer be available for Gloucestershire until the start of the T20I blasts.

Furthermore, it has also been confirmed that after mutual discussions between the medical teams of both Gloucestershire Cricket and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), they have decided to manage the workload of youngster Naseem Shah so that he is fully fit. Marcus Harris and Zafar Gohar, will reportedly continue to play in the County Championship 2022 in the youngster’s absence.
