Mohammad Shami is one of the best fast bowlers in the world right now. However, some fans in India have disrespected him on social media after his expensive spell in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 match between the Indian cricket team and the Pakistan cricket team played last Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Many former Indian cricketers and even some well-known Pakistani stars have come out in support of the Indian fast bowler. Fans have expressed their support to Mohammad Shami on various social media platforms, including the micro-blogging platform, Twitter.
Recently, amid all the controversies, an old video of Mohammad Shami from the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has resurfaced on Twitter. The final match of the 2017 edition of the Champions Trophy organized by the International Cricket Council featured a battle between the Indian cricket team and the Pakistan cricket team only. The Men in Green won the match in a one-sided way after Fakhar Zaman’s century.
When the Indian cricket team was returning to the dressing room, a Pakistani fan in the stands was asking them ‘Baap Kaun Hai’ (Who is the Dad). While the other Indian cricketers did not react, Mohammad Shami lost his cool and tried to silence that fan. You can watch that video right here:
Those calling @mdshami11 a #gaddar after the #IndiaVsPak match, please watch this 2017 video, when after losing to Pakistan, only Shami had the courage to confront the bullying Pakistani. #IndvsPak #shami #Kohli #ICCT20WorldCup #RohithSharma pic.twitter.com/8ixvhbJadP
