Sandeep Sharma brought his experience to the fore last night in IPL 2023 during the match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings. The Indian pace bowler, who remained unsold at the IPL 2023 Auction, joined RR as a replacement for Prasidh Krishna.
During yesterday’s match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Sandeep received the responsibility to bowl the final over. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja were looking dangerous in the middle, which is why the pressure was too high on the bowler.
Sandeep did not falter under pressure. He went for runs initially as the equation came down to seven runs off three balls. Then Sandeep executed his plans well. He went around the wicket for MS Dhoni and did not give him any room.
The equation was down to five runs off one ball. Since MS Dhoni has done it many times in the past, many fans expected the Chennai Super Kings captain to hit the ball out of the park and help his team win the game. However, the same did not happen.
Dhoni could take only one run. In the end, Rajasthan Royals won the match by one run. Here’s what Sandeep Sharma had to say after the match:
