The rescheduled 5th Test match between the Indian cricket team and England cricket team is currently ongoing in Birmingham’s Edgbaston cricket ground, where team India is currently working out a plan to dismiss hard-hitting Jonny Bairstow.
In chase of India’s first total of 416 runs, England lost their first 5 wickets for 85 runs by the end of the day 2’s play in Birmingham.
The 3rd day of the play began today with English duo of Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes at the crease. While the duo of Bumrah and Shami kept the England duo silent for a while, but, once Bairstow got going, there was not stopping him.
Jonny Bairstow has been in the form of his life in the last couple of weeks, playing those thunderous innings against New Zealand in the 3 match series in July. And now, Bairstow is looking to repeat the same here against India.
However, he didn’t started taking it to the bowlers straightaway, he took a little. But, once former India captain Virat Kohli divulged into a bit of a war of words, since then Bairstow has gone berserk. Before that tussle, Bairstow had only scored 13 runs from about 60 balls, but after that incident, he went on to score more than 50 runs in about 30 balls.
While reacting to that, New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham today took to his social media and listing suggestions for the teams who come up against Bairstow.
Neesham hilariously tweeted saying Bairstow gets even more dangerous when he he gets angry, thus, teams should send of gift basket every morning and keep him happy.
“Why do opposing teams keep making Jonny Bairstow angry lol, he gets 10x better. Give him a gift basket each morning, let him know you’re having his car valeted while he’s batting. Anything to keep him happy,” tweeted Neesham.
As for the India vs England 5th Test match, as of writing, the play is currently halted due to wet outfield after early lunch. Bairstow currently batting 91 runs from 113 balls and is keeping England’s hopes alive in the match. England still trail India by 216 runs after India posted 416 in their first inning, thanks to centuries from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja.
