James Anderson’s stunning claim: “I’ll buy Babar Azam with my entire budget” after he went unsold in ‘The Hundred’ draft

England cricket team’s star pace bowler James Anderson has stated that had he was present during the ‘The Hundred’ player draft, he would have actually spent the entire budget on getting Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who eventually went unsold.

The Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam is one of the most fan followed and successful cricketer of this generation. He has earned the reputation to be compared alongside stars like Virat Kohli, Steve Smith and Joe Root with his magnificent performance.

Azam is certainly one of the best ever to play for the Pakistan cricket team in their history. His influence in the team is hugely important for the Men in Green. He also has a great captaincy record leading the side.

Babar plays for the Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He wanted to be involved in this year’s ‘The Hundref’ tournament and so registered his name for the competition. However, at the end of the day, he failed to find any suitor.

Meanwhile, England cricket team’s ageless star bowler James Anderson said that he was quite shocked that Azam was not picked and had it been him, he would spent the whole budget to get him in his team.

While speaking to the BBC’s Tailenders Podcast, James Anderson said, “I will pay double for Babar Azam. I will spend the entire budget on him. I guess the availability issue is why he was not picked.”
