The match number 21 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 was played between Islamabad United and the Quetta Gladiators on the 5th of March in Rawalpindi’s Pindi Club Ground.
Quetta Gladiators, who were hoping to get their season back on track with a win against Islamabad United, suffered another defeat as Islamabad got the better of them by 2 wickets.
After winning the toss, Islamabad United captain opted to bowl first. They got off to a great start taking 4 wickets for just 17 runs inside the powerplay itself. But then Mohammad Nawaz and Najibullah formed a great 100+ partnership before the latter was dismissed at 121 runs. In the end, Quetta put 179 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, it was not a good start for Islamabad losing the wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over itself. But then some great contributions from batters throughout the inning did at the end took Islamabad United over the line and won the match by 2 wickets.
While it was the inning of Colin Munro (63 runs in 29 balls) that was crucial in the team’s victory, but stil we saw brilliant contribution with the ball and in field as well. And one of the big example of it would be Mubashir Khan’s boundary line catch to dismiss Quetta Gladiators’ captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. Watch the outrageous catch video below.
