Indian team got off to a great start in the currently ongoing Women’s World Cup 2022. The team’s first match was against its arch-rival Pakistan team. Like every time, this time too India handed Pakistan a big defeat. India won the match by 107 runs, which makes it that the Indian team has not yet lost to Pakistan in the Women’s World Cup, as this is the fourth successive win against them.
However, what was more heartwarming to watch was when after the match, Indian team’s players visited Pakistan team’s dressing room and was seen spending some times entertaining.
In the match played in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, the Indian team scored 244 for the loss of 7 wickets after winning the toss and and opting to batting first. In reply to which, the Pakistan cricket team could only score 137 runs.
After defeating Pakistan, Indian team player Ekta Bisht reached the Pakistan team’s dressing room and started feeding Pakistan team’s captain Bismah Maroof’s daughter.
At that very same time Bismah Maroof was at the field and her daughter was in the caretaker’s lap. Bismah’s daughter is only 7 months old. The video of the kind gesture from Ekta has gone viral on social media. It is to be noted that Ekta Bisht was not selected in the Indian team’s Playing 11 for the match. She had to watch the entire match from the dugout.
To make it even more heartwarming, the remaining of the Indian team players also arrived there and started to play with Bismah Maroof’s daughter. Everyone fed her and later took selfies together.
This incident has brought back memories from last year’s Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which was held in UAE hosted by India. The Pakistan team defeated Team India for the first time in a World Cup match in that match. Pakistan dominated the match and won by 10 wickets. After which, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were caught on camera meeting on the field itself.
