Imam-ul-Haq gains big in the latest ICC ODI Ranking to enter top 5 after performance against Australia

The historic series between Pakistan and Australia ended with Australia winning the one and only T20I match scheduled for the series. While Australia won the Test series and T20I series, Pakistan got hands on the ODI series, with Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq both having an amazing series, as a result of which, Imam has made a big leap in the ICC rankings.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest update of the ICC Ranking, in which, the Pakistan team’s opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq has gained numerous positions to slot into the top 10.

The updates takes place after the conclusion of Australia’s tour of Pakistan. Imam-ul-Haq has had a great One Day International (ODI) series, being one of the many main causes of Pakistan’s comeback victory in the ODI series.

While Australia won the opening match, Pakistan went on to win back to back 2 matches to win the series as well. Imam played an instrumental role in the victory alongside skipper Babar Azam. He scored 2 centuries and 1 fifty plus score.

In the first match of the series, he contributed with 103 runs, but Australia still won the match, while in the 2nd match, he scored 106 runs taking Pakistan to victory. And then he scored 89 runs in the 3rd ODI.

And in the latest released update, Imam gained 7 spots and now finds himself at position number 3 in the ODI Batting Ranking, while skipper Babar Azam has further consolidated his position at the top of the chart.

Australia captain Aaron Finch, who didn’t had a good series, has slipped 3 places to 10th spot. Meanwhile, pacer Shaheen Afridi jumped 8 places to 7th in the bowlers’ ranking, while Trent Boult continues at the top of the chart.
