Here’s why India and England players are wearing blue caps during 2nd day of 5th Test

The 2nd day’s play of the 5th Test match between Indian cricket team and England cricket team begun as Team India looks to put a good enough total on the board. Meanwhile, the players of both the team were captured wearing blue caps just before the start of the play.

After a bad start to the match for the Indian cricket team, the duo of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja then added a valuable partnership to get India to strong finish on Day as India posted 338 runs on the board.

The day 2 of the play at Birmingham began with the players of the Indian team and the England team captured wearing blue caps. This has led to confusion as to why they are wearing the blue caps.

Actually, the players are wearing blue caps to raise to funds for the Bob Willis Funds in its fight against Prostate cancer. It is being done in memory of former England player Bob Willis, who died because of prostate cancer at the age of 70, 3 years after he was diagnosed with it.

The initiative was launched by the Bob Willis’ wife and his brother and was first raised money during the England vs Pakistan ODI match in 2021.

As for the match, Indian team’s inning ended with lots of excitement as Jasprit Bumrah stole the show on Day 2 so far.

Resuming from 338 runs overnight score, Ravindra Jadeja completed his century before he was dismissed by James Anderson. However, coming in at number 10, Jasprit Bumrah had an absolute stellar performance, that also includes scoring 35 runs in an over of Stuart Broad as India got all out for 416 runs.
