Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus posts an epic reply to Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet congratulating Namibia’s win against Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup 2022

Today, on the first day of T20 World Cup 2022, there was a big upset in the first match itself as Namibia defeated the Asia Cup 2022 champions Sri Lanka by 55 runs. Different types of reactions were seen from the cricket world on their victory for Namibia.

But former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar tweeted in a unique way and told the cricket world to remember the name of Namibia. Actually, Sachin Tendulkar tweeted about Namibia’s probably one of the best win, in which he wrote that “Namibia has told the cricketing world today… “Nam” yaad rakhna! (Remember the Name).”

This tweet of Sachin Tendulkar is being liked a lot on social media. Because he has used the ‘name’ of Namibia in his artistic tweet. Meanwhile, after the match, Namibia team captain Gerhard Erasmus also responded to Sachin’s tweet and wrote in hindi, “Nam yaad rakhna!”

As for the match, Namibia has taken their first step towards Super 12 with this big win over Sri Lanka. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first.

After a couple of early blows, Namibia in the end posted a total of 163 runs for the loss of 7 in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Sri Lankan team was all out after scoring 108 runs in 19 overs. Namibia’s Jan Frylinck (44 runs 8 balls and 2/26) was adjudged Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

Frylinck scored 44 runs in 28 balls with four fours. At the same time, his fellow batsman JJ Smit played an unbeaten 31 runs in 16 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes.

Namibia will next face the Netherlands team, who also won their first match against UAE, on 18 October. Whereas Sri Lankan team will next play UAE on the very same day.
