Former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who is one of the greatest of the game, is currently going through a very rough patch, finding it difficult to score big runs. Thus, former Indian all-rounder and World Cup winner Irfan Pathan believes that resting a player doesn’t mean he will return to form.

Pathan today took to his official Twitter handle and tweeted that resting a player doesn’t help him in getting his form back. Though he didn’t mention any name in the post, it is believed that it is for Virat Kohli.

Virat’s poor run of form continued in the recently concluded India vs England rescheduled 5th Test match, which India lost and as a result, had to draw the series with a scoreline of 2-2.

In both inning of the match, Kohli failed miserably. Coming in at his preferred number 4 batting order, Kohli scored only 11 runs in the first inning, while he could contribute with only 20 runs in the 2nd inning.

The remaining 2 T20Is will played on the 9th and 10th July with ODIs commencing on the 12th July with further two matches on the 14th and 17th July.

But not long after that, the Men in Blue will take the field against West Indies in a 3 match ODI series, beginning from the 22nd July. The remaining 2 ODIs will be played on the 24th and 27th July. Other than the ODIs, India will also play West Indies in a 5 match T20I series starting from 29th July with the remaining matches to be played on the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th August.
