While the Indian team awaits their first Super Four round opponent to take place on the 4th September, the team has been though dealt with a huge blow as star Indian all-rounder has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today, on the 2nd of September, officially confirmed that the All India Senior Selection Comittee has named all-rounder Axar Patel as replace for injured Ravindra Jadeja for the Asia Cup 2022.
The press release by the BCCI states that Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a right knee injury and won’t be able to take part in remainder of the Asia Cup 2022. Meanwhile, Axar Patel, who was named as a standby when the squad was announced, has been named Jadeja’s replacement and he will join the team in Dubai in no time.
