On Monday night, May 1st, in Lucknow, there was a clash between former India teammates Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a low-scoring game.
The two cricketers have a history of a love-hate relationship, and this was not the first time they clashed. After RCB successfully defended their score of 126, both teams participated in customary handshakes.
However, as the cameras panned on the cricketers, there seemed to be a heated exchange between Kohli and Gambhir. LSG captain KL Rahul, teammate Amit Mishra, Lucknow support staff Vijay Dahiya, and an umpire intervened to calm the situation as Kohli walked away.
The clip of the incident was widely shared on social media, and it was not clear what had happened. This incident brings back memories of their clash on the field in IPL 2013, where Kohli got out, words were exchanged between him and Gambhir, and they had to be separated by KKR’s Rajat Bhatia.
