“Sanju Samson should play” – Former Legendary Indian cricketer wants Suryakumar Yadav out of Indian ODI team and Sanju Samson as his replacement

Wasim Jaffer wants Sanju Samson to play ahead of Suryakumar Yadav ODI 2023

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has backed the wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson to be the best fit in the Indian cricket team’s playing XI instead of a struggling Suryakumar Yadav, who is having a terrible run in the ODI format of the game.

The Number 1 Ranked T20 batsman in the world rose to fame with his destructive batting performance in the shorter format of the game. He achieved so much success in the T20 format that BCCI selectors couldn’t resist and included him in Indian ODI and Test squad on the basis of his performance in a format where he is allowed to play aggressive cricket.

But as everyone knows, the ODI and Test format is not about going all guns blazing. A player need quite a lot of patience and understanding to be successful in these two formats of the game, which has been a major issue for the Indian star T20 batter Suryakumar Yadav.

Surya has been dismissed for Golden Duck in both the matches of the ongoing ODI series vs the Australian cricket team, giving his wicket on both the occasions to star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc.

Meanwhile after his performance, many former players and experts now want the experiment to end and play someone who has better understanding of the ODI format.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has also joined the conversation. He said that Suryakumar Yadav has still a lot to learn about the ODI and Test format and he is good enough for the T20I format. He added that the BCCI and the Team Management should consider Sanju Samson in the team in-place of Suryakumar Yadav.

“It’s not a bad option to give Sanju Samson a chance because he has played well when given the opportunity and he is a good player,” said Wasim Jaffer.
