Everyone is aware of the great bond that former India captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli shares. Dhoni and Kohli both are some of the best captains to have ever graced the Indian cricket team.
While MS Dhoni as captain of the team won numerous titles, the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011 and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, the same can’t be said for Kohli though.
Despite Team India’s Trophy draught under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, the Indian cricket team was still one of the most strongest team during that time. There was a different and aggressive philosophy in the team.
Recently, while speaking to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Podcast ahead of the IPL 2023, Virat Kohli revealed that MS Dhoni chose him as his successor when he was 23-years-old. Checkout how Twitterati reacted to the same.
Virat Kohli (in RCB Podcast) said “MS Dhoni chose me as a captain, I was his Vice-captain since the age of 23, that build a huge respect between us”.

Means Dhoni was the most powerful captain who had right to choose his successor and also Virat said I was always his right hand so Dhoni is bigger player than Virat. https://t.co/IOgv28LNmK
