Former Indian cricket team player Robin Uthappa, who also played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is currently playing in the inaugural edition of the International League T20 (ILT20) for the Dubai Capitals.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cricket board planned out the league with one of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to form this league that consists of total of 6 teams.
The league got underway on the 13th of January with home team Dubai Capitals beating the KKR owned Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) in the opening match.
Dubai Capitals, owned by the Delhi Capitals, is currently performing really well, even though they lost the most recent match against Gulf Giants. Meanwhile Robin Uthappa had a tremendous outing in the match as he scored 79 runs from 46 balls.
Despite his brilliant performance, that saw his team reach 182 total, his team lost the match thanks to an even better outing from James Vince for the Giants.
But after Uthappa’s performance in the match, he has for now become a the most run scorer in the tournament. And after this, many Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans are upset that they released him.
Robin Uthappa scored 79 in 46 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20.
