The Indian Premier League (IPL) was played for the first time in the year 2008 which the Rajasthan Royals had won. IPL today has not only developed as one of the best T20 league in the world, but it is also massively benefitting the Indian cricket, bringing latest upfront.

T20 cricket has massively improved over the years and while it is just a 120 balls inning, but scoring a century in a match is not any difficulty anymore. IPL also a place where centuries are not a uncommon anymore.

There have been a number of cricketers who have scored a century in the IPL. While many players have gone on to become famous after scoring a century in IPL, there are a couple of players who have scored a century in IPL but very few remember them.

Andrew Symonds

Australia star cricketer Andrew Symonds is quite a famous name that many remembers, but very few may remember that he scored a century in the IPL’s very first edition in 2008. Symonds was one of the most expensive cricketer in the IPL 2008, and though he scored quite a lot of cameos that season, his biggest achievement was when he scored a brilliant 117 runs of 53 balls against Rajasthan Royals while playing for the Deccan Chargers.

Lendl Simmons

There are a quite a few who remembers that West Indies cricketer and opener Lendl Simmons have scored a century in the IPL. Many might even not know that he played in the IPL for the Mumbai Indians. It was during their IPL 2014 match against Kings XI Punjab when Simmons scored a century while of 61 balls while chasing a target of 157 runs. However, Simmons couldn’t establish himself in the IPL and after 2017, he never played in the IPL again.

Wriddhiman Saha

Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha is quite famous for his contribution in the longest format of the game many never believed that Saha is made for the shortest format of the game. However, he proved everyone wrong when he scored 115 runs while playing for the Kings XI Punjab. It was against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014 when Saha scored 115 runs not out of 55 balls. And the most important of them of all, it was in the final match played in Bengaluru. However, Kings XI Punjab still lost the match.
