The whole country exploded in a scream of joy as the Indian women’s cricket team today have beaten the England women’s team in the semi-final of the Commonwealth Games 2022 to enter the final.
Batting first in the match, Team India put on 164 runs on board, special thanks to a brilliant inning from Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues. Chasing the target, England fell short by 4 runs.
The England women’s team needed 14 runs in the last over and India’s Sneh Rana delivered a great last over to see India come out victorious.
With this win, the Indian women’s have guaranteed at least the silver medal but they surely will be fighting for the Gold medal against the winner of Australia and New Zealand that is to be played tonight.
