While Mumbai Indians got off to a great start with some great batting display from Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, the team struggled and kept on losing wicket in the middle-order, resulting in tension in the Mumbai dugout, only to be all cleared by Mumbai’s new star finisher Tim David.
It is the Mumbai Indians who are taking on the league table leaders Gujarat Titans in the match number 51 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 in Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium.
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, particularly Rohit Sharma, gave Mumbai a great start with the bat after Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya decided to ball first after winning the toss.
Rohit Sharma played a cameo of 43 runs from 28 balls, while Ishan scored 45 runs. Mumbai’s middle-order didn’t do well and the aim of putting a big total on the board was looking likely to have gone.
But, then came the hard-hitting all-rounder Tim David, who smashed the bowlers, scoring 44 runs from 21 balls, taking Mumbai to a total of 177 runs.
Tim David was involved with the Mumbai Indians side after they bought him in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. But, he did not had a great start to the campaign and was dropped from the team. But, ever since making his return to the Playing XI, he has been an X-factor for Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians fans on Twitter also praised Mumbai’s new finisher.
Tim David in last 2 matches: 20*(9) and 44*(21) – the new finisher of Mumbai has arrived.
