Sri Lanka registered an all important win in the 2nd Test match of the 2 match series against Pakistan to end the series on level after Pakistan won the first Test. This sets a massive impact in the World Test Championship Points Table as well.
The 2nd match of the Test series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan was played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium in Galle where the home team walked out victorious by 246 runs.
Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 378 runs in the first inning. Oshada Fernando, Dinesh Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella all scored fifty plus runs while Naseem Shah and Yasir Shah both picked 3 wickets each.
In pursuit of Sri Lanka’s first inning total, Pakistan were dismissed for 231 runs with Agha Salman scoring an important 62 runs. However, they were still trailing Sri Lanka by 147 runs.
Sri Lanka further added 360 runs in their 2nd inning to set-up a target of 507 runs for Pakistan. However, Babar Azam’s men were dismissed for 261 runs on the final day of the play and ends the series on a 1-1 draw.

As a result of the win for Sri Lanka and the draw in the series, Sri Lanka have once again jumped past India to 3rd place in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table while Pakistan have dropped to 5th place. Team India finds themselves in the middle of the two in 4th place. Meanwhile South Africa and Australia remain 1 and 2 respectively.
