Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will wear a special green jersey in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 league stage match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the prestigious Wankhede Stadium on May the 8th, on Sunday. Let us tell you that the Red Army, each edition takes to the field wearing a green jersey in one of its league stage matches.
Royal Challengers Bangalore started this initiative back in the year 2011 and since then it has become a permanent part of their campaign. This year RCB players and support staff will wear the special jersey to promote awareness about keeping the earth clean and green. The Bangalore based team informed about the same through its social media account.
Meanwhile, the Faf du Plessis-led side will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match. Let us tell you that both the teams have faced each other once in the tournament with Hyderabad dismantling RCB for a team score of 68 runs which is RCB’s second lowest total in the history of IPL. As a result, the Orange Army were able to win the match by nine wickets.
Talking about SRH, after winning five matches, they have lost three matches in a row. SRH’s batting line-up has done well in the last few matches. However, their batsmen could not succeed in getting them to victories in those matches. Currently, the Sunrisers Hyderabad sits at the sixth position in the IPL 2022 points table.
Talking about RCB, Red Army are currently at the fourth position in the points table with six wins from their 11 matches. Captain Faf du Plessis and former captain Virat Kohli have been successful in scoring runs in the last few matches after a initial poor start for the latter.
As for the bowling, pacers Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj and spin bowler Wanindu Hasaranga have been performing well for Bangalore and would like to do the same in the match against Hyderabad.
