The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is currently going on where a total of 6 matches have been played so far. This year’s IPL is a different level of competition with teams closely as strong as other.
So far, all the teams have played 1 match each and currently the Rajasthan Royals sits at the top of the IPL 2023 points table thanks to a great run rate they got after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Last night, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bagged their first win of the IPL 2023 beating the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) last night after suffering a defeat in the first match vs Gujarat Titans.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s statement after the team’s win is going viral on social media. After the team’s win last night, MS Dhoni during the post match presentation said that if the team continues to bowl number of wides and no balls, then CSK players will have to play under a new captain.
“One more thing is they’ll have to bowl no no-balls or extra wides, or they’ll have to play under a new captain. It will be my second warning and then I’ll be off,” said the former India captain.
But now many are confused as to why did he really said so. So, actually the case is. As per the information we have MS Dhoni has already received 2 slow over rate warning in the IPL 2023 and should he get his third warning in the coming matches, he could be forced to sit out a couple of matches as per rules. In that case, Chennai Super Kings would be forced to have a new captain for the latter matches.
Chennai Super Kings will next play their match on the 8th of April vs their arch-rival Mumbai Indians.
