Gujarat Titans secured their spot in the playoffs as the first team, but unfortunately, they were defeated by Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier. This loss led to the MS Dhoni-led franchise advancing to the summit clash.

Nonetheless, the Gujarat Titans made an impressive comeback by convincingly defeating the Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier. As a result, they earned a rematch against Chennai Super Kings, set to be held on Sunday, May 28th.

The IPL 2023 final, set to be held at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium tonight, may face disruptions due to predicted scattered thunderstorms during the evening.

In the playoffs, if weather conditions prevent any play during the regulation time, a Super Over would have been used to determine the winner if possible. If the conditions still do not permit a Super Over, and since there are no reserve days for the playoffs, the team that finished higher on the points table would be considered the winner.

Considering the possibility of rain interrupting the IPL 2023 final between CSK and GT, the outcome and the distribution of the trophy would depend on the below-mentioned rules and regulations.

If the IPL 2023 Final between the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings ends in a tie or there is no result, the following rule, as stated in IPL regulations, will be applied:

Rule 16.11.1 states that the two teams involved will compete in a Super Over. If necessary, further Super Overs will be played until a clear winner is determined for the match in question.

According to rule 16.11.2 of the IPL regulations, if the conditions do not allow for a Super Over or subsequent Super Overs to be played within the available time to determine the winner, as described in Appendix F, then the team that finished in a higher position in the League table at the end of the regular season will be declared the winner of the IPL 2023 Final match.
