Royal Challengers Bangalore is probably one of the most followed franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League. A number of big superstars have featured on the RCB team over the years. The likes of Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Jacques Kallis, Kevin Pietersen, and many more big names have been part of the RCB setup.

Even the current team has some big names, like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell. Despite having all these big names, the only thing that is missing for his team is an IPL trophy.

RCB are yet to win a championship in the last 15 seasons. RCB has played in three IPL finals but haven’t won it once. Former Pakistani legend Wasim Akram has opined that RCB would have won at least three seasons by now if MS Dhoni had captained the side.

In his latest interview with Sportskeeda, on the “What If” segment, Akram was asked if Dhoni was the captain of the Bangalore franchise and what impact it would have on RCB’s IPL success. Dhoni has led the Chennai Super Kings to four titles.

Akram said, “RCB would have won 3 IPL trophies by now if MS Dhoni was their captain. They have not won a single trophy until now. They have so much support. Also, they have the world’s top modern-era players Virat, but unfortunately they have not won. If Dhoni was in RCB, he would have helped them win the title.”

The Pakistani speedster also spoke about how Dhoni is different from other captains. He said that Dhoni is calm, and when players see that their leader is calm, they become more confident, and Dhoni also knows how to take the best out of every player. The CSK skipper has done a decent job so far, and CSK is second on the table in IPL 2023.
