The first ODI of 2023 for the Indian team has given a brilliant gift to the Indian fans. The former Indian captain, Virat Kohli, has started the year with a bang. Following his century against Bangladesh in the third and final ODI, he has now scored his 45th ODI century. And with this century, Virat has broken a few records.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka put India to bat first. India had a brilliant start, with both openers adding 143 runs for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma scored 83 off 67 with nine fours and three sixes, while Shubman Gill carried his form and scored 70 off 60 balls with 11 fours. Shreyas Iyer (28) and KL Rahul (39) also played useful hands.

But it was Virat Kohli who held the inning together and went on to score an 80-ball century. Virat got out after scoring 113 runs off 87 balls, with 12 fours and one six. With this innings, Virat equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 20 centuries at home, which is the most by any batter.
