“You’re not commentating in your gully cricket tournament” – Twitterati comes down hard on Virender Sehwag for “chhamiya” remark on Kohli’s celebration

The 5th Test match between Indian cricket team and England cricket team is currently on at the Edgbaston cricket stadium in Birmingham with India having a edge over the home India. However, while Indian team is performing well, Virender Sehwag made a statement about Virat Kohli on air that didn’t go well with the fans.

Cricket is one of the most loved sport in India. The entire country is crazy about the game of bat and ball. There in India, cricketers are like celebrities, such is the craze of the game.

But, it’s not only the cricketers, but also the on air commentators are so famous for their calling of the game. Many commentators have won hearts of many Indians with their commentary.

And one big example could very well be Ravi Shastri. The former India cricketer and head coach is a very successful name in commentary. His lines from the 2011 World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup final is not forgettable.

However, nowadays, many former cricketers are taking up the role of a commentator and most of them are not well-versed for that. They make mistakes that doesn’t bode well with the fans.

The same thing happened with Virender Sehwag during India match against England. While Virat Kohli was dancing and celebrating Sam Billings’ wicket on field, Sehwag’s co-commentator brought his attention to it. However, unknowingly, Sehwag called it, “Chhamiya naach rhi hai.”

It didn’t go well with the fans, who took to the Twitter to criticise Sehwag for his unknowing deed.
