Indian women’s cricket reached a new heights last night when the Women in Blue outplayed the mighty Australian team to break their 16 match winning run.
It was the 2nd match of the 5 match series and India were trailing by 1-0. Batting first, Australia scored 187 runs but the Indian team gave them a perfect reply as India also scored 187 runs.
The match went to the super overs. Batting first, India scored 20 runs. Australia could only score 16 runs and India won the match.
For India, star batter Smriti Mandhana was hero in both the inning. She scored 13 runs in super over and earlier scored 79 runs in 49 balls while chasing the 187 runs.
Meanwhile, a recent stat show that both Virat Kohli for mens and Mandhana for womens have scored the most fifty plus runs while chasing a target. Twitterati reacted to it and pointed out that both the batters wear the number 18 jersey.
