Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in their very first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Batting first, Mumbai scored 171 runs. Tilak Verma played an unbeaten inning of 84 off 46 balls for Mumbai and set a challenging target for RCB.
But the Bangalore openers made this challenging target look very easy. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored blistering half-centuries to give RCB a thumping win.
Faf du Plessis played an inning of 73 runs off 43 balls, which included 5 fours and 6 sixes.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli once again played a wonderful inning and scored an unbeaten 82 to give the team a great victory. Kohli faced 49 balls in his innings, in which he hit 6 fours and 5 sixes. In the end, Glenn Maxwell came and played 3 balls and scored 12 not out hitting 2 sixes.
