“Reminds me of Matthew Hoggard” – Twitter reacts to Issy Wong bowling a peach of a swinging yorker

England women’s cricket team’s young pace bowler Issy Wong made headline during the 3rd T20I match between England women’s team and South Africa women’s team.

While defending a target of 177 runs, England’s young pace bowler Issy Wong gave England the perfect start, picking-up the wicket of Lara Goodall in the very first over.

Having already won the series going into the 3rd T20I, England women’s cricket team posted a total of 176 runs in their 20 overs of play. Sophie Ecclestone played a brilliant inning of 33 runs from 12 balls while there were major contribution from Amy Jones, Natalie Sciver, Danielle Wyatt and Alice Capsey.

Chasing the target of 177 runs, South Africa could only score 138 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their respective 20 overs. Other than Tazmin Brits, the South African batter failed to perform.

However, it is the wicket of Lara Goodall in the very first over of the South African inning when Issy Wong bowled an absolute peach of the swinging yorker to dismiss the opening batter.

A video of the wicket was shared by the ECB official handle and reacting to that, fans remembered the veteran and former England pacer Matthew Hoggard.
