While Hong Kong lost the match against India in their opening match of the Asia Cup 2022, it was Hong Kong’s Kinchit Shah who stole the show as the Hong Kong middle-order batsman proposed to his girlfriend after the match.
Hong Kong qualified for the Asia Cup 2022 after winning the qualifier tournament and we’re slotted into a group of death for them with India and Pakistan.
While they lost the opening match, they still won much of everyone’s heart with a brilliant performance in the match. While they managed to Indian batters silent in the earlier phase, they didn’t succumb to pressure of a big score and scored 152 runs and lost only 5 wickets against a bowling attack like India’s.
For Hong Kong, Babar Hayat scored the most runs, 41 runs and was followed by Kinchit Shah who scored 30 runs from 28 balls. But, it is the events after the match was trending. Kinchit went on to the stands to propose to the present in stadium girlfriend and she said ‘Yes’. Twitterati also buzzed about it.
