After winning the first ODI in Hyderabad, Team India has also won the second ODI in Raipur as well. The bowlers of the Indian team, while bowling deadly, bundled out the New Zealand team for 108 runs. Chasing a small target of 109 runs, the Indian batsmen achieved the victory in the 21st over. For India, captain Rohit Sharma played a stormy half-century innings of 51 runs, while young opener Shubman Gill remained unbeaten after scoring 40 runs.
The first international match played at the Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur was named after the Indian bowlers in the first innings. Team India’s bowlers set a unique record inside the powerplay after 15 years, where the Kiwi team’s batsmen lost four wickets for 15 runs.
After this, Michael Bracewell, Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner pushed the innings in the middle order but in the end the visitors were bundled out for 108 runs. For India, all the bowlers took wickets in which Mohammad Shami took 3 wickets, Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar took 2 each and Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wickets each.
After the Indian bowlers, the batsmen also attacked the Kiwi team. Rohit Sharma started playing quick shots as soon as he came and played a match-winning inning of 51 runs in 50 balls, which included 7 fours and 2 sixes.
Henry Shipley took the wicket of Rohit Sharma. After this, Virat Kohli, who came to bat at 3, got out after scoring only 11 runs. However, Shubman Gill, standing at the other end, teamed up with Ishan Kishan to give Team India a one-sided victory. India has won the first two matches of the ODI series and has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The third ODI between India and New Zealand will be played on January 24 in Indore.
