The year 2022 has been a special one for Indian middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav. The Mumbai based batsman took everything by storm and went on to become world number 1 T20I batsman in just a year.
Suryakumar Yadav played a influential role in the Indian team, especially in the T20Is and his contribution has been immense for the Indian team.
However, despite becoming one of the great of the game in the shorter format, Suryakumar Yadav has been included in the Mumbai squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy match.
Normally a player who go on to become a established India international player, he overlooks playing for their domestic team despite not playing for the country at time. There are many example of such players, but Suryakumar Yadav has a different thinking from others.
He is set to appear in the Ranji Trophy match against Hyderabad that starts from 20th December. Team India is currently away in Bangladesh playing ODI and Test series and with limited number of T20I matches lined-up, Suryakumar Yadav thought it better to play the Ranji Trophy to keep himself match fit. Meanwhile Twitterati praised Surya for his decision and dedication.
