The Indian cricket team’s ultimate test will be the upcoming 4 match Test series vs the Australian cricket team in February, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be a crucial one for the Indian cricket team, not just because to assert their dominance, but also to qualify for the upcoming World Test Championship 2021-2022 Final, that too will be against the Aussies in England.
Team India have already announced a 17 member squad for the series and there some key players missing from the squad. Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been sidelined due to the accident he suffered on December 30th.
Meanwhile, middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has also been ruled out due to back injury despite initially being named in the squad.
There has been much debate about the inclusion of T20 specialist batsman Suryakumar Yadav in the Test squad despite him not playing much red ball cricket in last 3 years while deserving players like Sarfaraz Khan is being overlooked. Suryakumar recently played 2 first-class matches during off-days.
And with now the latest news confirming that Shreyas Iyer will miss the upcoming atleast 2 matches of Border-Gavaskar Test series, Suryakumar Yadav is now reportedly set to make his debut.
However, the fans are quite disappointed that a deserving player is not getting an opportunity and the domestic cricket is being overlooked.

we saw that he was not comfortable playing spin in the 2nd t20, has failed in odis, and not comfortable against swing as well, if he plays good in t20, that's ok, but u cant just play him in test based on his t20 performance. sarfaraz is so much more deserving
