“I am Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi” – Twitter reacts as Suresh Raina takes a dig at Shahid Afridi when he was asked about return to professional cricket

The whole room broke into laughter when the former Indian cricket team batter Suresh Raina took a dig at former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi after a Legends League Cricket (LLC) match.

The former Indian cricket team’s middle-order batsman Suresh Raina is currently playing for the India Maharajas in the 3rd edition of the Legends League Cricket.

On the 15th of March, the Indian team led by Harbhajan Singh in absence of captain Gautam Gambhir, played the World Giants in the match number 5 of the tournament.

The Indian team lost the match by 3 wickets to World Giants. Batting first, India Maharajas scored 136 runs thanks to Suresh Raina’s 49 runs from 41 balls. However, impactful innings from Chris Gayle and Shane Watson won the match for the World Giants.

Meanwhile after the match during the press conference, Suresh Raina was about a potential comeback to professional cricket after his batting performance. However, the left-hand batter took a dig at former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi while answering. He said that he is not Shahid Afridi and he will stick with his decision.

“I am Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi! I’ve taken the retirement,” said the former India vice-captain.

Meanwhile India Maharajas could win only 1 match in the 3 matches and does they will have to play a eliminator match against the 2nd placed team (not confirmed yet) to qualify for the final of the Legends League Cricket 2023 that will be played on the 20th of March.
