The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has officially now began as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is batting first against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening match of the competition.
While it is the rematch of last year’s final when both the teams faced off each other in the final of IPL 2021. But there has been a lot of changes since then, there was no MS Dhoni or Eoin Morgan for the toss, while Suresh Raina, known as Mr. IPL, is not even part of the any teams.
Suresh Raina, the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, this year has not found any franchise for IPL 2022. Thus, this year, he has been acquired by the Star Sports as the commentator.
But, Suresh Raina won hearts of many CSK fans when Raina was captured cheering for the Chennai based franchise during the pre-match show. Raina also said during the show that he was looking for an opportunity to enter the stadium wearing a yellow jersey.
But, Raina won hearts of many yellow army, the CSK fans, after showcasing his love still for the franchise. Fans also took to their social media show love to Suresh Raina.
As for the match, Kolkata Knight Riders are bowling first after Shreyas Iyer won the toss wearing the purple colour for the first time. And as of writing this article, Chennai Super Kings has scored 29 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 5 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 0, while Devon Conway scored 3 runs. Umesh Yadav has got both the wickets for KKR.
